I honestly don’t have enough money to buy plants. Some seeds did really well, but quite a few finally went into the compost as no shows. I used a new way to start seeds for the flowers. Some are growing under the grow lights in my office and others are in the green houses. It is also ready to be added to the vegetable beds. We also have a few wagon loads of our own compost that we have been cooking since last summer. Let me assure you that unloading a truck load of manure is not very glamorous! We will continue mixing this with some specialized soil we purchased last fall and adding it to all of our flower and vegetable beds.
We recently got a pick up truck load of chicken manure from Leighton and Brenda Cooley of Cooley Farms in Roberta to add to our beds. At the Royal Gardens we spend many hours preparing the beds, weeding, cutting back perennials, and painting. This is the time of the year when gardening is not very glamorous. Of course the homemade cakes and goodies from the Royal Gardens’ Kitchen make the trip even sweeter! Each year on Mother’s Day we host an Open House. We love to have people visit the gardens. Arrangements are made from whatever is blooming at the time and can even be made in your own vase, dish or basket.
We also sell fresh from the garden flower arrangements. and on the tables of the Rustic Bistro in Hawkinsville, Ga. Our flowers can also be found at the Village Marketplace in Macon GA. We grow and sell multiple varieties of basil, celosia, and ferns.Ĭlients can come to gardens and cut their own flowers or find us at the International City Farmer’s in Warner Robins, GA and the Perry Farmer’s Market. We offer a wide selection of daylily plants and bearded iris bulbs for sale. We sell a wide array of cut flowers such as zinnias, roses, sunflowers, gladiolas, calla lilies, show mums, tulips, daffodils, and dahlias. The Royal Garden offers a place for friends and family to come and meditate, laugh, and fellowship. We are a small cut flower farm.
